Truck_Hits_Car_in_Suffolk_CountyPolice are looking for the driver of a tractor-trailer who left the scene of a crash that left three people seriously injured early Friday morning.

The crash occurred in Melville on the North Service Road and Route 110 at about 2:30 a.m., Newsday reported. The truck was heading westbound on the service road when it struck a car that was northbound on Route 110, Suffolk County police said.

Three people in the car – a male driver and two female passengers – were taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. Police told Newsday the injuries were serious, but non-life-threatening. The injuries suffered or conditions of the three were unknown.

At the time of the Newsday report, police had not provided a description of the tractor-trailer. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call detectives at 631-854-8252 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls are confidential.

Meanwhile, a male motorcyclist and his female passenger were seriously injured when their bike collided with a van Wednesday night. Police say the van turned in front of the on Middle Country Road in Selden.

The driver of the van was not injured in the crash and was not charged at the time of the Newsday report. Suffolk County police said the accident occurred at 9:58 p.m.
