Deadly_Hit_and_Run_on_Southern_State_ParkwayPolice are on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run on the Southern State Parkway, Newsday reports. At about 6:28 a.m., a two-vehicle crash occurred eastbound on the parkway just west of Exit 32, Route 110. A male driver between 40 and 50 years old was killed, according to Newsday.

The car that fled the scene is a lightly-colored, possibly gray, sports utility vehicle with tinted windows. The license plate may contain “GHJ”. The vehicle was last seen driving south on Route 110 toward Amityville and had significant front-end damage.

Anyone with information about the accident should contact State Police at 631-756-3300.

From the time of the accident until around noon, investigating alternately close the center and right lanes of the eastbound parkway, according to the state Department of Transportation’s website.For a short amount of time between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m, all three lanes were closed.
