Suffolk County, New York, police report that four people were injured, two of them critically, in a two-vehicle crash on North Ocean Avenue in Medford late Tuesday night.
According to police, the crash occurred at 11:05 p.m. Kaynen Peters, 17, of Patchogue, New York, was exiting a driveway
on North Ocean Avenue, where one of his passengers lives, when his 1999 Nissan Sentra was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer driven by Luis Sanchez, 57, of Medford, Newsday reports.
Peters, Sanchez, and two women passengers in Peters’ car all were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue. Police say Peters and Brandi Bass, 19, of Patchogue, one of the passengers, were both listed in critical condition with internal injuries. Desiree Lamberson, 19, also of Patchogue, was in serious condition. Sanchez was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Newsday.
Police have impounded both vehicles for safety checks, and the accident remains under investigation.
